On the occasion of World Health Day, residents and walkers from Hyderguda, Upparpally, and Attapur (Rajendra Nagar Circle) united to promote preventive healthcare through a community walk and pledge, echoing the theme “Together for health. Stand with science.”
The programme held at Pedda Tallakunta Park, Hyderguda witnessed active participation from local community members, healthcare expert Dr. Rani Koppula (gynaecologist), and ISKCON Attapur representative Radhakanth Das.
Highlighting the growing need for citizen-driven health awareness, the initiative emphasized prevention of lifestyle diseases and marked the launch of a monthly “S.P.A.R.K Walkathon” by Ahamsutra Media Lab.
Although the planned NCD screening and sanitation drive was postponed due to the unavailability of officials engaged in Praja Palana programmes, organizers Myadam Madhusudhan and Ajit Rachoori stressed that India’s rising diabetes burden should serve as a wake-up call.
They expressed confidence that such community-led efforts would encourage regular health screenings and sustained participation, paving the way for a healthier society.
