Library Day celebrations held in Government Degree College, Hayatnagar Today, on the 5th day of the “99 Days of Public Governance – Progress Plan” Ed

Hyderabad, May 15: As part of the “99 Days of Public Governance – Progress Plan” Education Week celebrations, the Government Degree College, Hayatnagar, organized the “Mana Granthalaya Gyanotsavam – Vishwa Granthalaya Diwas” programme in a grand manner on Friday under the aegis of the college library department.
The programme featured a book exhibition, book talks, book donation drive, felicitation of best readers, and awareness sessions on the effective use of library services. Vidyasagar was honoured as the Best Faculty Reader, while Aditya, a BA second-year student, received the Best Student Reader award. Book donors Subhasini, Dr. Geetha Nayak, and Dr. Venkateswarlu were also felicitated for their contributions to the college library.
College Librarian Dr. A. Durga Prasad explained various competitive examinations, degree course opportunities, PG entrance tests, and future career prospects to students and parents. He emphasized that reading habits and regular use of libraries play a crucial role in the academic and personal development of students.
A rare copy of the Constitution of India was displayed as a special attraction during the programme. The Principal, faculty members, and students appreciated the efforts of the library department after examining the exhibit.
College Principal Dr. P. Suresh Babu stated that libraries serve as centres of knowledge, inspiration, and personality development. Faculty members, staff, students, and parents enthusiastically participated in the programme
