From Classrooms to AI Labs: GDC Hayathnagar Launches Digital Learning Internship 100 Students Trained in Artificial Intelligence and Future-Ready Skil

Hayathnagar, June 19: In a significant step towards preparing students for the digital era, the Government Degree College (GDC), Hayathnagar, launched a two-day Teaching Internship Programme on “Artificial Intelligence and Digital Learning” under the Telangana Collegiate Education Commissioner's flagship Anna-Akka Mentorship/Internship Programme.
The training programme, themed “Empowering Educators Through AI for a Digital Future,” aims to equip both students and faculty members with emerging technological skills essential for the rapidly evolving job market.
Presiding over the inaugural session, Principal Dr. P. Suresh Babu emphasized that Artificial Intelligence is no longer a technology of the future but a necessity of the present. He encouraged students to adopt AI responsibly and ethically to enhance their learning capabilities and career prospects.
Vice Principal V. Indira highlighted the growing importance of digital competencies in higher education and employment sectors, stressing that AI literacy has become indispensable for academic and professional success.
The programme features Dr. P. Bikshapathi from Maturi Engineering College as the Master Trainer, who is conducting sessions on AI tools, smart classroom practices, AI-powered assessment methods, and online learning platforms such as SWAYAM and NPTEL.
Around 100 fifth-semester students are participating in the internship. Upon successful completion, participants will receive academic credits and certificates as part of the state-wide initiative being conducted across government degree colleges from June 18 to 20.
The programme is being coordinated by Dr. D. Bala Narasimha, Associate Professor of Chemistry, N. Narasimha, Assistant Professor of Mathematics, and N. Bala, Assistant Professor of Commerce.
Faculty members including Dr. Madhu, Dr. Shekhar, Dr. Makla, Dr. Yadagiri, Dr. Avesh, Dr. Durgaprasad, Rajitha, Mamatha, and Uma Rani attended the event, making it a meaningful step toward fostering AI literacy and digital learning among students.
